Understanding brainwave frequencies for relaxation, focus, and meditation
Binaural beats occur when two slightly different frequencies are played separately to each ear using headphones. The brain perceives a third frequency, which is the difference between the two tones. This perceived frequency may influence mental states such as relaxation, focus, or sleep.
Example: 200 Hz (Left) + 202 Hz (Right) = 2 Hz
Example: 220 Hz + 226 Hz = 6 Hz
Example: 432 Hz + 440 Hz = 8 Hz
Example: 440 Hz + 454 Hz = 14 Hz
Example: 500 Hz + 540 Hz = 40 Hz
| Purpose | Binaural Beat |
|---|---|
| Relaxation | Alpha 8–10 Hz |
| Meditation | Theta 6–7 Hz |
| Sleep | Delta 1–3 Hz |
| Focus | Beta 14–18 Hz |
